8 MUST-DO'S FOR OPTIMAL PROTECTION:

• Reapply your sunscreen every 2 hours to stay protected.

CHEMICAL OR PHYSICAL (MINERAL) SUNSCREEN?

How to choose the right filter? A chemical or physical (mineral) sunscreen each has its advantages. So it is definitely useful to know the difference!

Do you sweat a lot, go swimming frequently, or have a photoshoot coming up? Then a chemical filter might be better for you. These suncare products soak into the skin and absorb UV rays, making them usually non-greasy and transparent. Just keep in mind that you should apply sunscreen about 15 to 30 minutes before sun exposure for optimal protection. A known disadvantage of chemical UV filters is that they can cause skin irritation, especially for people with sensitive skin or for those who recently had an intensive skin treatment, like a chemical peel. In such cases, a physical UV filter is a better choice.

Sun products with a physical (mineral) filter stay on the skin's surface and reflect UV rays. This reduces the risk of skin irritation, making them ideal for those with sensitive skin. If there's a downside, it's the white cast they leave after application, especially on darker skin tones.
