Ways to use SPF daily

Protect yourself with SPF! SPF actually means Sun Protection Factor. The amount of SPF determines how long you can stay in the sun without burning. Always apply enough because a thin layer gives less protection. UV radiation can cause wrinkles, pigmentation, sagging skin and also skin cancer. To prevent this we would like to give you a hand! By the way, did you know that there are 2 types of UV rays?

UVA-rays

The "A" stands for "Aging". These rays are present
throughout the year and come through clouds and glass. The
radiation penetrates deep into the skin and the more often
we expose ourselves to it, the higher the risk  of rapid skin
aging and the development of skin cancer.

The "B" stands for "Burning". These constitute
only 5% of all UV rays. UVB is mainly present in the
spring and summer. It makes us tan but we have
to be careful because otherwise there
is a chance of sunburn.

sunbathing without worrying

We always apply sunscreen! Also, make sure that  your sunscreen protects you against both UVA and UVB rays. It's also important to apply SPF in the shade, as trees, umbrellas ... often still allow a lot of UV rays through! Also, the sun's rays reflect depending on the surface. On the beach and near water you need to be extra careful, but grass is relatively safe.

TIP!
Don't forget your lips! Like the rest of your skin, they are extra sensitive to UV rays. We recommend using a lip balm with SPF if you are going to be exposed to sunlight for an extended period of time. Choose a neutral lip balm or one with colour.

makeup with spf is your BFF

Sunscreen every day is a must! But when you also want to use moisturizer, foundation and powder, things can get trickier. That's why makeup products with SPF the solution. The SPF in your foundation is as strong as the SPF in your sunscreen. However, you will hardly ever use as much foundation (at least half a teaspoon) as you use sunscreen and therefore you wont be optimally protected. So to be on the safe side, always use a sunscreen under your makeup in spring and summer. In autumn and winter, makeup with SPF is enough because the UV index is much lower then.

DAy cream with spf

We use a day cream to moisturize our skin and support the skin barrier. If you also want to combat skin aging it is best to use a day cream with SPF! After all, the sun is responsible for 75% of our skin aging. Since we need to protect ourselves every day, a day cream with SPF is a smart choice!

SPF a day doesn't keep your tan away

Now that you know how important SPF is, let’s clear up some myths:

1. Everyone can use sun protection.

2. Just because you don't burn easily doesn't mean you don't need sun protection.

3. Some people think you tan less quickly with SPF but this is absolutely not true.

4. You can still get a nice tan while protecting yourself.
